匹茲堡大學
01、學校介紹
匹茲堡大學（University of Pittsburgh）成立于1787年，是歷史悠久的世界頂尖公立研究型大學，美國著名高等學府，同時也是美國最早的十所大學之一。其主校區位于賓夕法尼亞州第二大城市匹茲堡，與卡耐基梅隆大學隔街相對，各學院分布在奧克蘭區（Oakland），地理位置十分優越。匹茲堡大學是北美頂尖大學學術聯盟美國大學協會（AAU）的62所成員校之一，被美國社會譽為“公立常春藤”大學，其下屬UPMC為全球頂尖醫學院之一，在器官移植、神經外科學等領域均處于國際領先地位。校訓格言是“真理與美德（Veritas et Virtus）。
02、聲譽
截至2008年匹大獲得的捐款基金達23.3億美元，全美排名29位，公立大學中居第8位。2006年匹大獲得的美國聯邦政府科研經費位居全美第10位。龐大的經費支持，使得匹茲堡大學2010年度財政預算達到17.2億美元之巨。匹茲堡大學2019 U.S News全美大學排名第70名，世界排名第43名。學校最負盛名的是醫學，人文社會科學，以及生物科學的相關學科領域。在美國國家研究委員會（NRC）對美國各大學評估中，匹大哲學系排名全美第二；科學史與科學哲學系排名全美第五；藝術史與建筑史系排名全美第七。
