英國在護理和助產學方面久負盛譽。在英格蘭，共有72所大學和學院開設護理和助產學課程。

英國的護理專業分科很細，主要分為普通護理(generalnursing)、精神健康護理(mental health nursing)、殘障護理(leaning disabilitiesnursing)、兒童護理(children nursing)和產科護理(midwifery)。

護理和助產學領域設有講授式研究生文憑(PostgraduateDiploma)和碩士(MA)課程，還有研究式(MSc)碩士和博士(PhD)課程，開設的課程有護理管理、護士教育、癌癥護理和高級助產學等。

英國護理專業入學要求比較高，需要有A-LEVEL ，并取得ABB的成績。然后通過UCAS進行申請；雅思要6.5分以上；從國內大專院校畢業的學生想申請護理碩士課程，至少需要五至十年的工作經驗，本科畢業生也需要三年左右工作經驗才能申請護理碩士。
